Founded in 1970, with the aim of spreading the knowledge and value of Italian art, CIDA Publishers came out on the book market with the publication of the International Catalogue of Modern Art, Masters of Art in the Century, edited in 2 languages (Italian and English). The catalogue included all emerging and confirmed professional artists such as painters, sculptors, graphic designers with an artistic talent that was ascertained by an internal commission set up for the purpose. One in its own kind, both for its bilingual text and its graphic design and colour images, the catalogue would later be called Catalogo Internazionale d’Arte Moderna: MDS (International Catalogue of Modern Art: MDS) and circulated in Italy, the USA and other countries in the world. Through the years, the aforesaid publication has become a real working tool for gallery dealers, museum operators, art experts, critics and enthusiasts, as well as a guide for all those who would like to come closer to the art world, especially for collection purposes. Along with it, CIDA have also published Quaderni di pittura (Painting Booklets), I Classici Italiani (Italian Classics) and a series of monographs on the major Italian painters and sculptors. The elegant graphics and high quality image printing characterizing our publications, as well as the expertise of our printing professionals have soon made CIDA Publishers a leader in the international art book market. In 1974, in order to provide artists with a space where they could exhibit their works, we opened a CIDA gallery in Rome. Soon afterwards, we replicated this initiative in Philadelphia and Southern Italy as well. Managed by art critic Remo Alessandro Piperno, CIDA Publishers have always enjoyed the cooperation of well-known art critics and scholars, journalists and experts for the research and text editing on the individual artists included in the publications.
